Primary Responsibilities:

The Developmental Specialist provides case management and program coverage on the floor, assists with writing quarterlies, oversees implementation of DHSP, and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides hands on/floor supervision to staff with regards to the day- to- day operations of assigned groups and program areas.
  • Maintains case records in compliance with DMA, DDS and CARF regulations. 
  • Assists and supports Staff in implementing programmatic and therapeutic goals.
  • Assists and supports Staff in implementing program and Participant related procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, in the development of the Day Habilitation Service Plan (DHSP) for each program participant assigned.
  • Develops and implements data collection procedures to document the progress of each program Participant’s DHSP goals.
  • Participates in the Quarterly review of each program Participant’s DHSP as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in annual severity profile assessment and ensure timely submission.
  • Ensures timely submission of attendance sheets for monthly billing assist with program billing as assigned
  • Seeks out accessible volunteering opportunities for program Participants.
  • Assists program staff members with direct “on-the-floor” support to program participants as needs arise.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings.
  • Assists in the coordination and completion of tasks required to obtain licensing of facility, Day Habilitation certification, quality assurance and CARF certification where appropriate.
  • Offers flexibility in job assignments/duties to ensure the safe delivery of services is available to people supported in any program within the Day Service Division.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Minimum of 3 years working with adults who are developmentally disabled 
  • Ideal candidate has B.A., B.S. in psychology or related field
  • Must be able to communicate in both written and oral formats
  • Possess a valid driver’s license from MA, or neighboring states
  • Must be able to provide proof of good driving record.
  • Have negative drug screen, CORI/SORI. Fingerprinting.
  • Physical ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs required.
  • Physical ability to stand for 1 hour uninterrupted
  • Physical ability to bend and push wheelchairs
